It won’t surprise me either way what happens if he wins 3-4 games. You’re right there is no doubt he will be back at 6-6. Turd would probably prefer that option and let Frost succeed or hang himself next year with the easy schedule. It would be hard to get rid of him if that happens. 6-6 isn't great but it's marked improvement and with an easier schedule on board for 2022. How could you not wonder what the team would look like with a much easier schedule next year?
Now I think the likelihood that Nebraska beats Purdue, Wisconsin and Cockeyes this year are about 1%. And I think anything less than bowl eligibility and a .500 record should get Frost removed as head coach.
It's a slim margin, but it's one this team has set themselves up for and have nobody else to blame but themselves.
Honestly, how much better do you feel about this team if they simply beat Illinois and any of those other 4 teams? All of which they had a shot at winning (least likely being Minnesota for Gods sake). They'd be sitting at 5-3 with the remaining schedule of: Purdue coming off a loss and 2 straight very physical games, Ohio State coming to Lincoln after a big game vs Penn State, a down Wisconsin team and an Cockeyes team that can not throw the ball.
What a difference a few special teams mistakes and bad plays by a QB makes. Football is truly a game of inches.
