he mentioned 4 guys today on Big Noon and talked about Rhule first and said something to the effect that Nebraska was making a push for him. The he briefly added Monken & O'Brien because, he said, Turd has ties to them, and Gary Patterson as a darkhorse.

What I took away from this personally was that if Rhule wants the job it's his and the Patterson may be the backup plan.

Patterson is a shitty backup plan.

If you are negotiating with Rhule you also need someone else to negotiate with to give you leverage - at least until both sides want to finalize terms. Your primary target has to have some fear you might go elsewhere.
