My only other thought is if this is the best he can do to judge the slope of a green, maybe he should take up pickleball instead.

True, and they actually lowered the pitcher's mound to make it fair for hitters going forward. Bob Gibson was an absolute beast on the mound.
I remember as a kid watching him take a line drive to the shin, breaking his leg. Had no idea that was possible in baseball.
