My standard fine is $10 per mph over.

Also in rural Missour'ah crime is so high and we don't have enough LEOs that if you get pulled over for speeding you were REALLY speeding.

My guys don't even turn their lights on for anything less than 11 mph over.

My record in 2024 is a kid (19 years old) going 136 mph in a 65. I asked for 6 days in Jail and the Judge gave him 12 days but let him do it on the weekends.

I once got clocked going 135 mph ... in the median. Had to hit the grass to avoid blowing up the tailpipes of the cars who appeared - quite suddenly at that speed - in front of me. The term "felony speeding" was bandied about by the very pissed off Nebraska State Patrolman who ultimately wrote me up for a whole series of offenses I allegedly incurred during the incident.

The next day I called a lawyer who sat on our fraternity Alumni Board, who got it scheduled in front of another fraternity alumni judge and my lawyers only advice was to wear a fraternity jersey to court and "shut up". I wound up getting everything either dropped or plead down to "reckless driving" (my only offense of record) and I did a couple nights of traffic school and paid court costs and a modest fee to the alumni lawyer for managing the case to my benefit.

It's always who you know, isn't it?
