Title IX applies to revenue sharing per DOE

What The Fuck Wtf GIF

The tweet said revenue distribution "from a school." UNL isn't paying it's athletes anything IIRC. Nebr athletes are all paid from a private company that is not part of UNL.

My read is that things could continue on as they are as long as they keep the collective model. But the minute they try to have the schools pay the athletes directly then that is where this thing would kick in.

This wouldn't affect what 1890 is doing because 1890 isn't the school. I know people like Turd Alberts wanted to have the schools handle NIL payments though. But that hasn't started yet.

The schools will soon be paying out money directly to athletes. Most schools are planning to pay out 80% or so to football and men’s basketball. Department of Ed is saying that violates Title 9.

This is affecting what it was allegedly going to evolve into. Revenue from the school being shared with the players. Naturally the idea was most was going to go to football.

Isn't the current collective model better for NU though?

We have a better collective and better organization and better funding than all of CFB minus about 10-12 programs.

If schools can pay some of their $60m B1G TV rights distribution to the players that's not an advantage for NU....Rutgers, Illinois, Purdue all have the same $60m
