1: I saw what I wanted to see from Dylan. He didn't shy away from the 104k crowd size. He finally took off and used his legs to take what was there to take. He was a leader. If this year is his starting point then that guy is gonna climb pretty high.

2: Play calling didn't help him. All week they talked about how bad we are at perimeter blocking. Then we called a ton of plays that required perfect perimeter blocking. It went about as well as expected. Some OCs have brains, ours doesn't.

3: Good for the kicker. It's great to see a guy who blew it before absolutely bury 3 kicks. That's something he'll never forget for the rest of his life. You love to see it.

4: The success in kicking absolutely fueled what we saw from the rest of the team. Adding small positives are huge in terms of sports mentality. The FG issue seemed to be a hurdle that once accomplished it ignited something locked up inside a bunch of them.

5: The refs couldn't spot the ball correctly in favor of Nebraska but boy did they get out their investigation equipment and microscopes to deny Neyor a touchdown. And they had hard ons to call OPI against Banks.

6: On our last drive we had plenty of time and timeouts and I was hoping they would use Fidone on a few small hook routes to move down the field. They didn't. That play should be there whenever we want it.

7: Watching film we will see what could have been. There were at least 6 plays that were TDs if not for a shoestring tackle or missed WR walking in to the end zone. Dylan needs to work on those throws. I bet next year he doesn't miss them.

Caleb Downs was a 5 star out of both HS and the portal and made 5 star safety plays yesterday for sure.

Was there any world where Neyor’s catch should have been overturned? I watched but couldn’t hear anything (kids). Seemed egregious.

The Neyor overturn was the right call. The OPI call on Banks late seemed like BS. The targeting call on OSU I feel has been picked up a bunch all year but there is a consistency problem. I also didn’t think that was a catch by banks on the targeting/fumble. I didn’t see a “football move”. Obviously the EJ first down run in the first half was insanely bad. I bet OSU fans are complaining the officials tried to screw them.

Oh, and scrambling for yards you mention in #1 is huge if it persists the rest of the year. Maybe even some called draws in empty sets. It’s a cheap way to stay on track and can be deflating to the defense.

This seems to contradict how shitty Satterfield is.

I'm adding one....

8: I have been wondering about Jeudy and if he'll be a serviceable replacement next year for what we lose on the line. Maybe not. I saw him get mauled bad on one running play that made me question if he is even really a football player. It looked like a Mack truck wearing an OSU offensive lineman's jersey roll over him. Jeudy put up about as much resistance as a wet spaghetti noodle.

Did anybody see him do something good or are we portal shopping on the Dline next year?

IMO, they need 4 BIG bodies for DT (to rotate some) and right now they have 2. And those 2 are gone for 2025.

That Math sucks.

Personally, felt the Neyor catch was a “stands as called” type of review where there wasn’t definitive evidence either way and should have stuck with the on field decision……and vice versa if they had ruled on field incomplete.

At some point, without any announcement, they’ve shifted from “indisputable video evidence” as the requirement to overturn a call to “just whatever we think is probably right.”

Or… it means he’s calling plays we can’t execute.
Although this is true, could it be that he is calling plays that are at the 'boundary' of can/can't execute intentionally? If you want an accelerated growth path, and think the players will be ultimately capable of executing these even though they can't do so regularly now., wouldn't you challenge them to do it in a game?

It would seem that would accelerate development and allow you to end up with the best team possible end of year. It also affects the opposing D, because their coaches in the press box will also see those guys are open.

good perspective. 2-3 of those plays should've went for big yardage but were a block away or snuffed out by an all american player.
7 or more of those called screens are a bit excessive but it does make the opposing coaches have to cover the field for the next game.

Guess I missed that play, I thought against tOSU was the best Jeudy actually has looked.

FWIW Damon said this morning that 60% of those screens were checks made by Raiola. Basically, he sees man and checks into the shitty WR screens.
