What's the normal process when a staff no longer wants a recruit, particularly one who's committed to the previous staff (e.g. Watson with Nebraska)?

I think it varies by coach. Sometimes they call them and tell them things changed, other times they just won't communicate with the kid and hope he gets the message.

I don't really think anything out of the ordinary happened here.

People need to realize he's the same old Deion he's always been he just throws a few God and Jesus references in there to try and make himself look more legitimate.

Agreed - the offers getting pulled by itself is a non-issue, as far as I'm concerned.

But getting a false promise from the AD, then also not being able to get an answer from the new staff when asking them directly seem like abnormally douchy ways to string committed kids along, especially late in the process. Like how hard is it for the new staff to say "we've got some different players we're targeting than the previous staff - we appreciate your commitment, but would encourage you to explore your other options."
