The downsides to having dogs with a dog door

There is a thread somewhere documenting my dogs killing prowess here, and I'm kinda proud of some of that prowess.

I take no pride in last night's hunt. We awoke to crunching sounds that turned out to be a cottontail skull being crunched by the sweetest dog ever...in our bed.

I tossed this out the front door at around 4:30 am:

I'll spare you the imagery of the rest of the bunny that was consumed and then vomited on the downstairs carpet around 7 am. I threw it out the front door into a snow drift.

My hunting dog wants to kill our next door neighbors fluffy rat dog and it’s really causing some tension with our neighbors.

We had an incident where he jumped our 7’ privacy fence and had their fluffy rat dog pinned down - luckily someone stepped in before any damage was done. Now we have an underground fence installed, and if we let him out without a muzzle on we get a knock on our door a few minutes later to tell us how scared their kids are.

Giant pain in the ass

Would never let any “outdoor” dog of mine get anywhere close to our bedroom, ever. Let alone up on the bed.

I always viewed "doggie doors" as an open invitation for any critter from God's world to ENTER my home uninvited, and there are a whole lotta critters that I don't want IN my home. Hard pass on ever having a doggie door into my home.
Or a dog for that matter

Isn’t owning a home fun? Aside from the constant repairs, upkeep, taxes. But when you overpay you have soooooo much equity. Then you get to spin your wheels for 10-11 years on a 30 year mortgage.

It’s Super Bowl Sunday, Tone. Wishing, hoping and praying that you have a Super day…..😎

My wife's cousin has this breed. The craziest dog I've ever been around. That thing wouldn't listen for shit.

I definitely would never say he’s the easiest dog I’ve trained.

Twice last year we were on a track and jumped a different deer and he damn near pulled my arm out of my socket

Fuck them kids!!

We have always had rotties and when we had a 4 ft chain link fence we always told our neighbors NOT to stick their hands through or over the fen
ce unless we were out there. We now have a 6ft vinyl privacy fence so the dogs cant see anyone.

They are not hunters but will chase the shit out of 🐿️. Haven’t seen a 🐇 in years since the previous rotties killed a whole family one day. Love my Rotties!!
