That 2009 Blackshirt defense

And honestly, I've never had a back interaction with him. I found it easy to root for him minus the fumbles.
I remember my dad saying he was at the casino in Cockeye and ran into some of Paul’s friends from high school. They said the guy was an airhead but a good guy. I always thought he was a solid player and didn’t deserve a lot of the shit he got. He could definitely make the list of ex Huskers who got shit on by Husker fans. I still have Lord is my top guy.

Classic case of him being local and highly rated created expectations he wasn't going to live up to
 
Besides being a talented defense, they were super aggressive in tackling, coverage, and played through the ball.

That aggressive nature seemed to tail off in the waning Bo years. Not only were they out-schemed, most the defense lacked that mentality.
