Sign Up Now!Disgusts me to this day what that team could have been. Give me 2010’s offense with that team and they were probably an 11-1 team. They were incredible.
If only we had even a semi-decent offense that year
Even with that offense we should have beat Cockeye state, Virginia tech, and Texas. I was at the Texas Tech game. That game was over after our receiver didn’t go for the fumble. Ungodly great, my favorite defense of all time.

I was at the Texas game. It actually reminded me of the tech game the prior year. We didn’t play with the energy we should have. If Martinez doesn’t get hurt in 2010 we end up with one loss that year. Our offense was garbage after he went down. Green was horrible. Burkhead out of the wildcat was our best offense. It was Niles Paul.
All of this is true above.
Id say that our best chance to be 11-1 or even 12-0 was 2010 though.
1) No excuse to lose to a shit Texas team at home.
2) No excuse to lose to aTm on the road although we know that this one was going to be 17 on 11 all game.
3) No excuse to lose to OU in the title game after being up 17-0. If Taylor Martinez throws the ball to his favorite fan in the stands we kick a field goal to go up 20-0 and have all the momentum into the half. Instead, Travis Lewis picked it off and he was off to the races to give OU life.
Gomes was insane. He just made plays. I remember thinking that Jojo reminded me of him when I watched his HS tapeThat Gomes play where he took the ball from the Texas WR remains a top 3 or 4 defensive play on the ball I’ve ever seen. I simply still can’t figure out how he managed to do that.
Gomes and Hagg were as good as it got for a Bo defense because they also knew how give run support.Gomes was insane. He just made plays. I remember thinking that Jojo reminded me of him when I watched his HS tape
Niles Paul is somebody I never got here. It felt like he underachieved so much.Even with that offense we should have beat Cockeyes state, Virginia tech, and Texas. I was at the Texas Tech game. That game was over after our receiver didn’t go for the fumble. I think it was Niles Paul.
Basically Suh and Crick had A's and B's locked down and they had to clean up when it bounced.Gomes and Hagg were as good as it got for a Bo defense because they also knew how give run support.
But when I watch old games I appreciate him. He was also a solid special teams player here.Niles Paul is somebody I never got here. It felt like he underachieved so much.
I get that....then I think of the drops and the fumble against Cockeye state. Like he made some great plays but some really dumb easy onesBut when I watch old games I appreciate him. He was also a solid special teams player here.
Niles was definitely an airhead but if one of our top receivers played like him this year I would be happyI get that....then I think of the drops and the fumble against Cockeyes state. Like he made some great plays but some really dumb easy ones
But then managed to have a respectable pro career as a new age TE. Definitely an odd career.Niles Paul is somebody I never got here. It felt like he underachieved so much.

I'd bet he was barely 6 ft. I met him a few times and he was right in the range above me.Yeah. And he was short. I’m 6ft4 and I saw him out one night and I tower over him. He may not even be 6ft
8 years and a full pension. Can’t beat that when a lot of Husker fans shit on him.But then managed to have a respectable pro career as a new age TE. Definitely an odd career.
