SSO's Colorado Preview

I think this is the link OP meant to post
It is! I'll change it. Glad that wasn't porn.

If they're in man all game, isn't that basically just a massive RPO success for 60 minutes for us?
It definitely should be. They will mix in some zone but we will gash the shit out of them running the ball and their D-coordinator will panic and just go back to man, to which I hope Satt and Thomas are ready for.

I feel like if there was ever a game to "over prepare for", it's this one.
It's a pretty simple gameplan defensively. Colorado is running an offense that was outdated eight years ago. They're going to run four wide the entire game and target mismatches. We'll probably bracket Hunter and give up a lot of short and intermediate throws to avoid the big play. It really comes down to tackling and maintaining assignment integrity on the back end to avoid gimmes. It's really difficult to stretch the defense without a tight end unless you have a good running game to force the defense to commit between the hashes.

Offensively we should be able to scheme up enough to move the ball. I expect them to sell out to stop the run early and force dylan to test their defense in matchups. We kept a lot of stuff between the hashes off tape last week and I think that was by design. The only stuff I saw was pretty basic or guys sitting down in space. I expect a heavy dose of TEs over the middle and some routes out of the backfield. The play I keep coming back to was an NDSU back going for 30-40 yards off a texas route. I think that should still be there and if it's not, stressing LBs will be a point of emphasis because they don't scare me at all.

For colorado it's about hitting home runs and for nebraska it's all mental. Makes this a really hard one to prognosticate.

I love it

I am not worried about stopping their run. Their touted tOSU rb looks like a transfer & they opted for the smaller guy who was struggling to get 2-3 yards against a smaller defense. There biggest run game will be the outside passes on screens/swings/RPOs & even against NDSU, they stopped doing that.

This is a game where ya drop back & let em have the run cuz it’s not going to be sustainable for em & I don’t think shadeur has the patience to dink/dunk for 4 quarters. Cockeye State upset baker mayfield/Oklahoma by staying with 8 guys in coverage all game & I think something similar would work against Shadeur.

Put this in the Colorado thread but realized we are about 100 pages deep on that. Goes over what i'm worried about, where I think we have the advantage, and a score prediction:

Deion reversed course from last year they aren't running their mouth this time because they know there's a good chance they're going to lose.

Good stuff. Really isn't a hard game plan. Run the ball until they commit a safety, then throw the ball to crossing routes or to TEs/RBs as they stay in man coverage and their LBs suck in coverage.. Defense is pretty simple as well, pressure Sanders as their OL sucks, make the tackle on short throws.

Tackling will definitely be important. Can't give up a bunch of medium/big plays that could have been short ones.
