He seems to really play to his size but with athleticism unlike Farmer. I bet he ends up starting next year.

I could see him and Farmer locking down both safety positions. Newsome and Clarke/Johnson at CB...and now I don't feel so bad for our secondary...

Damn. Totally spaced him. That's a good problem to have! I know we lose a lot on defense, but it finally feels like we are at a "next man up" level. Probably don't have a true nose to replace Daniels, but tons of quality DL bodies to fill his void - primarily thinking that Ty Robinson will step up. Yes, we lose JoJo, but with the way Tannor was playing at the end of the year and Nelson, I feel okay with the OLBs. I also expect to start hearing Gifford's name in the conversation more and more. And the DB room is probably the most loaded room in regard to pure talent.

Think I see more of Singleton/Buford at safety and Newsome/Hill at CB. We're in trouble if Farmer starts. Dude is soooo slow.

I'm sure there will be a little drop off but we will be fine on defense. I think the big loss is Daniels. Hopefully we can make up for the drop off on defense with better special teams and a better offense.

Definitely not the fastest but think he has pretty good football IQ, which can make up for some of that, especially at safety.

How big is Farmer? Could he move down into that hybrid Domann position? Good enough tackler?

I agree with @Kaladin, Daniels is the bigger loss IMO. JoJo is a gamer, but we can scheme around the gap he leaves. Daniels is a dude who required a double team in the middle and freed up our ILBs to go make plays.

He's gonna be the hardest to replace. His ability to tackle in space and take on the slot when required was huge.

Daniels was good for one year. Domann has pretty much always been good. If Daniels can be good for one year...why not Nash or Robinson or whomever? Domann is an All American for a reason.

Daniels was a 5th year guy who has been on the field since 2018 or 2019. Nash is a 2nd year guy who has barely seen the field. Maybe Robinson can be the guy but he never struck me as a true NT.

Do you remember Daniels his 2nd year? Lol. Guy was fat and out of shape and couldn’t get on the field. There’s no reason to think a kid like Nash or someone else couldn’t get to the level Daniels played at in 2021
