this is fascinating. new publisher on Rivals is an outsider, it's not gonna work out. it's not possible to ingratiate yourself with this fanbase if you aren't a lifelong Husker followers. On3 has the bigly upper hand.

Even Nate wont be able to save that board

You're probably right, but I'm actually find myself rooting for Rivals all of a sudden? A scrappy outsider and a revived Nate Clouse seeking vengeance?? Big Shot Dean teaming up with Sipple running scared? Fascinating.

Rivals Director of Operations Josh Hemholdt with some SHOTS FIRED:

"As we envisioned what the future of Nebraska coverage on Rivals looked like, we knew we had to deliver a product that matched the enthusiasm and investment the Nebraska fan base pours into their programs. The Nebraska market has spawned a lot of great sports journalists, and we had the opportunity to talk with a lot of great people throughout the market.

When I considered the next iteration of Nebraska coverage on Rivals, though, I knew there needed to be a stronger emphasis on recruiting coverage. Since Nate left the site a year ago, the coverage of recruiting here has not been up to the level we expect. Today, recruiting means something a little different than what it did when I started covering it for Rivals almost 20 years ago. Elements like the Transfer Portal and NIL have changed the landscape, and that requires an evolution in how recruiting is covered. The next leader of this site had to have a strong passion and plan for recruiting coverage."

Just come out and say it Josh: Callahan spends more time at Tanners knocking down wings with Gerrod then he does cold calling kids that have Nebraska in their top 30.

Whenever I see someone type that they spit out their coffee or water after reading something, I usually just kinda roll my eyes because that's probably only happened to me a few times in my entire life.

Well, today was another time. I sprayed coffee all over my Samsung monitor when I read this reaction in the Sipple introduction thread on New RSS:

I don't know why I wasn't expecting it, but it got me real good.

I think it depends. Nate coming back would definitely help for me. If either one site continue on with biased articles it's easy for me to not pay attention to either one of them. The only thing I occasionally found myself missing from rivals was Robin's Nebrasketball recruiting content. He does a nice job with that.
