Satt defenders

We would have been better off keeping Thompson and Smothers.
Unfortunately, both QBs didn't participate in spring practice since they were both recovering from surgeries. I don't think Smothers would've been a game changer and doesn't have the arm. Thompson was supposedly a locker room cancer.

I get that but in the time Smothers played under Frost he looked better than Purdy and HH has. I don’t know about the locker room stuff but Thompson is a better qb than our hacks.

no way wtf GIF by Anabel Magazine
He makes 250k (iirc) more than Longo at Wisconsin

I am sorry I doubt that we took a QB without any consideration from the OC....

I have zero doubt that Rhule flagged him, contacted Geoff and brought him up.... But do you really think Rhule as a CEO style HC is forcing a QB upon his OC?
I don't think Rhule forced Sims on Satterturd.

I think Rhule went to Satterturd with the idea about Sims and Satterturd said sure.

I would agree with that.... I guess I expect an OC at Nebraska to evaluate Sims and realize he is a headcase.

Evaluating HS kids is one thing given the variance, but portal kids there shouldn't be this large of a variance

Satterturd just strikes me as a chicken shit.

The talk all offseason was that Rhule wanted Sims.

Sims can play elsewhere next year. If Sims or HH is playing a single snap at QB next season, heads should roll.

He should be fired. Tonight. I’ve tried to give him a chance. After today. There is no defense of him. Zero.
I was actually about to go into ur editorial to ask specifically what you thought of his play calling. Not an in your face type of thing but I was genuinely curious if there was something I was missing

I assume Rhule’s buddy Collins told Rhule Sims was a quality qb and had a good work ethic.

I would rather have Brian Ferentz at OC at this point. He is a garbage OC for sure but at least he has the ability to see what he has and put kids in position that they can win. Satterfield can’t seem to even recognize what his players can and cannot do and he refuses to take the easy route

Brian Ferentz as an OC is worse, but there is zero doubt in my mind that we beat Minnesota and Maryland with him as an OC.

I think there was too much time left there to simply run HB dive 3 times, so I don’t mind passing on 3rd with 7 to go. 3rd down snap was around 3:50 or so, and Maryland had 2 timeouts plus the wind for their potential game tying FG. It’s an eternity in college football.

I think the better criticism would be that we should have tried a fade or something else less risky. Seems like play was drawn up to have Coleman clear his guy to the inside so that Kemp had room on the corner, but Coleman just took a really long time to make his move for some reason. Still up to QB to recognize that and not throw it.

If we go super conservative there and Maryland scores a TD or wins in OT fans are bitching just as much about playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

Absolutely not to throwing there. With Caleb Williams yes but not with your 3rd string qb, marginal receivers, notoriously bad pass pro, and the option of taking lead and running clock with three minutes left. Not no but fuck no.

On the other hand, they had only scored 10. Maryland scoring was far from certain, and it would be even less likely had the defense not gotten kicked in the nuts right before taking the field. Plus, without the incompletion and then int that's another 1:20 that could have been ran off

I've blamed Rhule for it plenty. I mean he obviously made the hire, I don't know what repeating that over and over again is supposed to accomplish. Give him a chance to correct his mistake this off-season. Send fucking doogie, the TE guy, and barthel packing while we're at it. Maybe Uncle Donny too, idk...
Lmao, 0 chance that happens. You could see all of those hires were straight trash when they were made, why would Rhule all of a sudden change his mind now? Folks need to realize that Rhule is a really, really poor offensive coach. Look at the history of his teams, they have shitty offenses.

His only chance of surviving at Nebraska is to hire an actual legit OC like White is at DC and then staying the fuck out of the way. He will continue to meddle and make terrible hires on that side of the ball and will flame out or be fired by the end of 2026. Book it.
