Am I the only one that’s in a wait and see mode with him? Most reports are he’s gonna be a stud, but looking at his stats against legit competiton, he went 3 catches for 26 yards against Oregon in 2019 and 3 catches for 2 yards against Washington (Freshman yr). Obviously he’ll be facing better competition in the B1G. Maybe I’ve just been burned too many times by getting excited about a new guy, but I’m tempering my expectations

i'm not buying anything until i see it with my own eyes anymore. been sold too many bills of goods for the last 20 years.
The Office Thank You GIF

A guy does get better over time. On top of that he will no longer be the only option. When there's other receivers to cover it makes things a lot easier.

I think he's gonna be good. But until we see it in games, it hasn't happened yet.

I am in wait and see mode too, but also optimistic. He's certainly got a better cast around him (believe it or not) than at Montana and he isn't the focus of the entire offense. Defenses won't key on him like they did there.

he will be our most consistent guy. 50-65 yards/game
Thats what I'm expecting. When is the last time we had a decent possession receiver? He doesn't need to be blazing fast. Know how to read the defense and run the right routes will get him a consistent 50-65 with a few 100+ yard games.

Westerkamp. They are pretty similar. Toure has a bigger upside obviously but Westy has elite hands.

Same problem Wandale had - easy to key on a guy when he's the only real threat.

I can tell you I expect what JD did in terms of stats.

I feel he is having a bigger impact off the field in leadership in that room. That room had zero leadership and had great athletes who needed more player leadership than Kade "I drop TDs" Warner.

This is based off multiple conversations with different people who would know.
