Mickey is playing the leverage game and that doesn’t make him a bad guy for doing it. You have moments in your career when you have it and are justified in using it and I’d say this is one of those. My guess is he’d prefer to stay here in Lincoln. And Rhule knows these kids love him and he fits Rhule’s ideal mindset - grinder, recruiter, motivator, mentor, accountable. I would imagine that Mickey sees the staff coming together and finds it attractive overall. I think that what is being read as Mickey having sour grapes is nothing more than Mickey using the leverage he has to get some more (earned) money and be sure he gets the role he wants and is comfortable in on the staff.

Yeah It seems like one of those purge situations. Fresh blood and all. Let Rhule do his thing without any hangover attachments. Objectively Ellis seemed to be pretty legit compared to others though.
