This Nebraska team has so many flaws. Shortcomings that we all knew were there. They were like the shark in Jaws. There was a huge problem lurking below the surface for weeks. Sometimes the dorsal fin would breach and scare us but then slip out of sight for a time. But last night the monster showed itself and took a huge bite out of our season.

The coaches used smoke and mirrors on offense and the defense held as long as it could. October was a month long magic show and Rhule proved to be a disciple of the dark arts, but magic isn't real and reality is just too strong.

1: The team has an injury list that reads like a interstate multi-car pile up. Whole position rooms laid to waste. We've set new debt limit records in sunken cost. Spring and summer chemistry have been wiped out one or two or three ligaments at a time. Maintaining any sort of offensive continuity left us long ago as everything we worked on in the preseason is sitting on the sidelines or on a hospital operating table.

2: Haarberg is a Class C QB in an NFL body and while his body has held up, his class C shows. He was only offered a schollie when Frost missed on a bunch of his top targets. (Many of whom haven't exactly made a name for themselves in CFB either, but that's another story) @Carm and @vailhusker remember ,I'm sure. Then Haarberg was obviously ignored by Frost's staff after taking him. The extent of his "development" is what you are currently seeing right here before our eyes in game.

3: What we saw last night is what October always had a chance of looking like but we were somehow able to avoid the shark. But you can't stop an eating machine forever. We have tougher games ahead and I feel like the Mayor of Amity Island.

So what you’re saying is a few bites will be taken by the monster but we will prevail in the end by saying “smile motherfucker” and we’ll blow this shit up?

And you’re basically saying frost actually knew what he was doing by ignoring Harbug after he got on campus?

gawd damit Flash, packin plant have you workin night shifts again

Where do you find that though turning the ball over at the clip we do?
It's not just turnovers although yeah that's a huge problem. Who we are is on film now multiple times. Opposing DC's have to be giddy watching HH's extreme limitations. And now that Rhule doesn't want to run HH out of fear of the fumbles and his health I'm assuming we are beyond fucked. When the other team has a legit game plan of take away the first read on passes and stuff the box with 9 guys all playing the run its a bigger problem than turnovers.

Same place they found it the 3 games prior to this one I guess. Obviously every game is lose-able from here on out because of that but our opponents are all basically the same level of ass we are.
I'd agree with that if Michigan st. Hadn't lost their coach and only won 2 games on the year prior.

True but when you play penalty free and your offensive output is at least comparable to theirs. That 3-0 turnover stat sticks out like a sore thumb.

Meh. Shit happens when you're a bad team. Wisconsin just ate shit to a 2-6 Indiana team, Cockeye's offense is at least as bad as ours is, and it's Maryland football after September.

yeah yesterday was a shitty loss, but we've got 2 at home against not good teams.

But also true are the number of scoring opportunities missed by HH. WR's were running free and open on numerous occasions where HH just plain panicked in the pocket or just plain failed to see them. Or just made a piss poor throw. Or the WR dropped the ball surprised it hit them in the hands. He's gotten worse. The issue is they've tried to make him a real QB instead of just calling to his strengths and minimizing his shortcomings. I understand why they have tried to make him a QB instead of an athlete taking snaps, but its not doing him or us any favors. Too little too late.

The thing that scares me with Cockeye is their defense is more opportunistic than ours. But your right their offense is laughable like ours.

To put HH's performance from last night into perspective....MSU rolled out TWO inexperienced QBs who were younger than HH and neither of them made the bad throws, the missed reads, unnecessarily taken sacks or stupid fumbles that HH did and they did that against our defense.
