Five-star QB Dylan Raiola set for USC return trip

ByBLAIR ANGULO 13 hours ago

The nation’s top-rated recruit will be back on the road this weekend.

With the contact window reopening following a month-long dead period, Dylan Raiola will get another chance to connect with coaches and is taking advantage of the first opportunity to meet with USC.

The five-star quarterback from Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle is set to take another unofficial to USC this Sunday.

Raiola went back on the market in December by de-committing from Ohio State and has been active in the months since, making prior stops at Nebraska and USC.

The two-time national champion Georgia Bulldogs, Cornhuskers and Trojans are most often mentioned as the major contenders for the talented signal caller. No official visits have been locked in just yet but the expectation is that Raiola will take those this spring and summer.

Raiola was in Hawaii earlier this year for the Polynesian Bowl festivities and explained why he has such high interest in the Trojans, who just had a bounce-back season highlighted by Caleb Williams getting his hands on the Heisman Trophy.

“Knowing Lincoln Riley, his track record speaks for itself,” Raiola said in January. “Obviously all the Heismans, he’s had quarterbacks win three of them, it’s crazy. The offense he runs and the way he develops people, it’s about how he gets playmakers the ball from a quarterback and play-calling standpoint. It’s definitely cool to see and I definitely want to get back there, too.”

In 12 games as a junior at Chandler (Ariz.) this past season Raiola completed 64 percent of his pass attempts for 2,435 yards and 22 touchdowns and five interceptions.
