Crazy weekend of games. Colorado getting beat, Illinois beating Maryland, KU getting beat, Oregon/Washington slugfest, Wisconsin laying an egg, Pitt beating Louisville, Arizona stomping WSU, USC imploding. It’s what makes college football so much fun.

Xavier Watts had a monster game for ND. 2 INT and a double return TD

Good thing we got Zavier instead
I'm old enough to remember when he didn't want to go to Nebraska because they wanted him at DB. Notre Dame took him as a WR and then moved him to DB and now he's getting interceptions off of Heisman Trophy winners. 🤣

I think that was the excuse for not staying home as opposed to the real reason.

And maddening.

I legit might not have picked any of those games right hahaha (except Wash > Ore).

Hey sometimes you have to believe in yourself to play the position you want, even if experts tell you not to.

Signed,
Luke McCaffery probably

Add the Colorado State win and Houston win. Crazy endings in college football this week. Two hail mary victories this week.

https://ftw.usatoday.com/2023/10/Cockeye-minnesota-lowest-total-in-college-football-history

It’s certainly not shocking to see a low total in a college football game involving the Cockeye Cockeyes. A strong defense and, at times, comically bad offense in years past has led to some tough watches for Cockeyes fans — or college football fans in general.

Cockeye’s highest total this season has been 43.5 (twice) and every Big Ten game its played has featured a total in the 30s. Outside of being demolished 31-0 by Penn State, though, the Cockeyes have managed to win all of their games and head into this week’s matchup with Minnesota at an impressive 6-1.

Why is this game notable?

That would be because the Cockeye-Minnesota total currently sits at 30.5 at several sportsbooks, which would make it the lowest in college football history — dating back to 1995 when totals were tracked.

Last year’s game between the two teams finished with a total of 31.5 — then the lowest total in college football history — and the game comfortable stayed under in a 13-10 Cockeye win.

Even with the low totals in the 2023 season, Cockeye is 5-2 to the under so far this season. Minnesota is 3-3 to the under in games this season.

Despite the historically low total, bettors at sportsbooks are loading up on the under. Under 30.5 was the second-most bet total at BetMGM sportsbooks, as of Friday afternoon, with 55 percent of the bets and 59 percent of the handle on the under. At DraftKings Sportsbook, 54 percent of bets, but 72 percent of the total dollars wagered were on the under, as of Friday afternoon.
