Anybody every been to Marco Island in Florida? Looks like a cool spot.

Yes! Small Island. Nice beaches. Not overly touristy. If you’re looking for a place to relax on the beach and not worry about anything else, it’s a very nice place.

Was trying to find a getaway for the wife and I next January for our 15th anniversary. Thought it might be the spot to try.

Never been but I have friends who have a big ole beach house there. They rave about Marco Island. Stone Crab Capital of the World. Sounds very relaxing there. Chill place to hang and their pictures look amazing. High dollar area. He's a big fisherman and said the boating & fishing is about as good as anywhere in Florida. I think it would be a home run trip with your wife. His pictures are truly amazing, stunning place.

Highly recommend and agree with everything @1HuskerDad mentioned.

We stayed at the Marriott Resort Hotel and it was great. The guy that ran the rental shop on the beach was a Nebraska fan - small world. I'm sure he's not there any longer as this was 5+ years ago. https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/mrkfl-jw-marriott-marco-island-beach-resort/overview/

There's also a small tiki bar just a few steps south of the Marriott that had kick-ass pina colada's. Not a big pina colada guy, but these were unbelievable.

I'd also recommend the parasailing if you have some extra time.

Naples FL is a short drive away where you could go for an outing. The Naples Pier is cool - but I think it got heavily damaged from the hurricane last year. Naples took a bigger hit than Marco.

You can rent a boat and explore some at Marco. My wife and I definitely want to go back some day.

Tip: there is a Sam’s Club in Naples on the way there off of the interstate. We picked up all of our week’s booze and food essentials on the way there. Stayed at a condo with another couple. Worked out great and saved money and we got right to the beach 🏝️ to start enjoying. We went out for dinner every night but had breakfast and brunch in the condo. Lots of good restaurants. Was over 8 years ago so I don’t remember all of them.

One other thing. It might be pretty cold in January...at least the water, beach, swimming.

Probably plenty warm though for a convertible. We rented one while we were there.
