Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer is up there with Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, and The Prestige.

Fuck, ranking his movies will be extremely tough here soon.

The Prestige and Batman 1/2 are a class or 2 above the others jmo

I think Dunkirk maybe was the best. But damn that's a good set of movies.

I think he got lazy for The Dark Knight. A lot of plot holes and the movie’s saving grace was Heath’s portrayal of the Joker.
That's maybe the craziest shit I've ever heard. Dark Knight is probably the best superhero movie of all time. It's just so freaking good start to finish.

I rarely go to the theater. Is it paramount that I see it in the theater, or would it be as good if I wait to see it at home?

Catch it on a 6$ tuesday at least. Was pretty cool on the big screen.

That cool is only a small fraction of the 3 hrs though, dont want to lead you the wrong way on it

Don’t get me wrong, I love it. But there’s a lot of plot holes. And the sudden twist of Harvey Dent to a two-faced killer was easily the disgrace of the movie. He should have been a major villain in the third movie.

As far as plot holes, here’s a page with 16 of them. And that’s the ones that they noticed. I examined a lot more after watching it several times.

Like I said, I’m not taking away from the movie, but I feel like TDK was a step down from Nolan’s team of getting the details right. Still a great movie and easily top CB movie, but in the grand scheme of how a plot movies with attention to details, TDK falls short.

I'll just agree to disagree.

For instance, another amazing Nolan movie... Interstellar... Has more plot holes including the very biggest one about future humans saving current ones ... Because who saved them? And future Matthew McConaughey saving past?

Interstellar is amazing but it is a movie about how to make plot holes. Way worse than TDK

You still liked it. I couldn't get past this problem. Not a very good movie all the way around iyam and I like time travel science fiction shit.

The interstellar point you made is fun. I think that could be explained with non-linear time where there is no beginning of end, but all possibilities are happening all at once creating infinite timelines. There was never an earliest version of himself to save the world, it has just always been that it happens that way in this timeline because he goes above the rules of our three dimensional world to make it so

When MM entered the black hole he basically was allowed into some form of the fifth (I think) dimension that allowed him to see every moment of one "timeline" all at once. Operating above the rules of our three dimensional world he was able to fundamentally change the one detail through gravity. If his timeline were a two dimensional image, like a series of pixels, there's no way for it to change on its own. He basically opened Photoshop used the paintbrush tool and made it a new different image.

Actually the example at 5:39 explains what happens a little better.

The theory on time travel is not really a plot hole due to it being on of the top theories for time travel. But even with that, his effort to get the black hole science down shows exactly what he can do when he takes the time and make things make sense.

It honestly felt like Nolan was contracted to do the Dark Knight trilogy, but his heart wasn’t in it. Felt like he wanted to focus on his projects. Nolan made a great movie and Heath only escalated the movie with his performance.

I just don't get that considering how excellent all 3 movies are.

I saw someone make the case that Interstellar works better if you view everything that happens after Cooper crosses the event horizon as his imagination as he dies. then when it cuts back to Anne hathaway at the end that's back to reality as she's the only one left to try to keep humanity going
