Biggest asshole attorney I have ever worked with was also coincidently the only attorney I have ever worked with a $1,000+ hourly rate.
I remember in 2013 he fired his para legal and his Secretary (2 different women) in the break room in front of all the other staff who took their lunch hour at that time.
It was Friday December 20th, Christmas was the following Wednesday and the entire office was gonna be closed all of next week.
A few other senior partners stepped in and paid the fired employees through the end of the year and I think even gave them a miniature severance disguised as a Christmas bonus. Not for any employment law reasons, simply PR damage control for the firm.
He obviously never saw It’s a Wonderful Life, or the point of the story went over his head.
