Being a Nebraska fan has been terrible the past decade or so, but put that aside and just imagine being a Cockeye fan

Cockeye fan life

• Start season and play 2 games vs Miami of Ohio and Northern Cockeye equivalents. Average score is like 25-12 and 1 of the TDs is a special teams TD or defensive score
• Every year the marquee non-conference game is boring ass ISU. You win most of these games which is nice, but you also lose your fair share to them about a third of the time. Big Trip for the fanbase is to Ames. Average score is about 20-16
• Big Ten gives you easy ass schedule every year. In 7 to 8 of the 9 conference games, your entire strategy is to play the most boring, soul crushing brand of football imaginable. Throw for like 132 yards and punt 8-10 times a game and hope your opponent makes a mistake. In about 5 of these games flip a coin. If you get heads 4 times, you are 10-2. If you get tails 4 times you are 7-5. Average score is about 24-21
• Other game vs an elite opponent you get murdered and every calls you a fraud. Average score is about 42-7
• Play a bowl vs like Kentucky or Mississippi St because no bowl wants to see your boring team and finish 8-5 most years
• Offseason - Ignore Racism and give Ferentz a lifetime contract extension for fear of becoming Purdoodoo or Northwestern. Talk trash about your old QB and that this new QB will get the job done for us. It obviously isnt Ferentz that is making these QBs terrible.

^Repeat for 30 years with about 4 good seasons mixed in.

Just a depressing existence as a fan.

I truly don’t remember much about the game. We erased a 17 point deficit, took the lead, then Cockeye took the lead with a couple minutes to play. We just kicked a field goal to send it to OT.
