Baseball Official 2026 Nebraska Cardiac Beaver Slayers Baseball Thread

Looking forward to Scottsdale in February. Will be fun to kick things off in the sun this year.

I don’t remember hearing anything about this guy:

Do you think Worthley will be ready for D1 ball as a freshman? Not being a smartass, honestly curious.
I believe the coaches outlined that if the season started at the end of fall, he'd be their guy.

Having an 18 year old run your pitching staff while being the catalyst for your offense being the leadoff hitter is a tall ask.

That being said, He was one of the top three players on the field this Spring along with Buck and Sanderson.

Agreed. Unfortunate statement maybe on where we are program wise. Very mature kid though.

Unfortunately a good friend of mine who was a Husker during the Erstad era told me the same thing. He is also very good friends with the staff.

My buddy thinks they will struggle this season from what he knows/hears.
Its really going to come down to Horn and Jasa, both could go 8-2 or 2-8 .

Its going to be a long spring boys
Sad Happy Hour GIF

Is our weekend rotation going to be:

Horn
Katskee
Jada

That should be a pretty good rotation

C Worthley - freshman
1B Sanderson - junior
2B Stokes/Buck - senior/senior
SS Carey senior
3B Kelley/Overbeek - junior/senior
LF Jesske - junior
CF Nunez - sophomore
RF Buettenback/Newham - junior/soph
DH Kitchens - senior

SP Horn - junior
SP Katskee - junior
SP Jasa - sophomore

Outside of Worthley, we’ve got an experienced team. That has to count for something.

Will be interesting to see how Nunez holds up at CF. He's had some injury issues, no?

Cliffs? Don't have a subscription.
I don’t either. Just posted it to show that d1baseball thinks we have upside, although I doubt they actually know that much about the program, since they’re mostly focused on the SEC and ACC
