Official 2024 Other Games Thread

I don’t know how a scout could watch this game and still be in on Shadildo.

Holds onto the ball way too long for the NFL. A lot of those scrambles he had tonight would've been sacks against a team with P4-level athletes, let alone NFL.

I think Shedeur is annoying as hell, but I do think he'll be successful at the next level. They'll coach the scrambling out of him, or it'll get hit out of him quickly. When he's in the pocket and in rhythm he's really fucking good.

I don't think he's a guy that you can draft and start week 1, but if he can sit for a year as a backup then I think he could work out.

I mean, being the most-sacked QB in the country last year clearly didn't accomplish that job...
That wasn't due to him scrambling too much though. In college it typically works out for him when he tries to extend the play. Sometimes it's a disaster but there isn't a coach right now to tell him not to do it, because Deion won't say it. In the NFL he won't have that rope.

The Colorado/NDSU game was the perfect result for Nebraska. Colorado will come into Lincoln 1-0 and high on their own supply. Their top players will be gushed about all week which should provide the proper motivation to our defense. They also didn't run or stop the run which should have our coaches' alarms ringing as an obvious way to win the game.

Hypothetical question: If team A has a top Dline and team B has a substandard Oline, what is the usual outcome of an otherwise even game?

Real football fans know the answer. As long as we don't give away this game with nonsensical turnovers (*cough Sims *cough) Then Nebraska is going to be 2-0.

Sharpe on 1620 on the way in says Nebraska defense has a real chance to "eat" against Colorado, and have a monster game

Hate to say it, especially after watching that game, but I’d put money on CU if the spread is over -3.5. Definitely take the over if it’s 55+.
How could you watch that game last night and come away with that conclusion? Colorado's "elite" offense scored 31 points against an FCS school. And they had 2 opportunities to put the game away by picking up a first down...failed both times.

Shedeur, Hunter and Horn are legit. Outside of those 3, this a bad football team.

Agreed. Take away those 3 (or even just sheduer) and they honestly may go 0-12

Yeah exactly. He has such a bad habit of bailing out of the pocket, drifting backward, and even flipping around so he can't see his receivers or pressure. That shit usually gets beat out of young QBs in college. You can get away with that against NDSU, but that is not going to work against the rest of their schedule.

You mean taking a bunch of backups from the portal and giving them, at best, FCS coaching didn’t turn them into an elite team?
