Official 2022 Husker Baseball Thread (23-30)

Outside looking in since I haven't been able to watch a game this season but I find it odd they don't name a Sunday night starter. Koty Frank has proven reliable as a starter and generally throws strikes. IMO the weekend rotation should be Schanaman, Frank, Perry.

Rational for this is Schanaman generally goes far into games, throws strikes and has the best stuff of the 3. This helps over the long weekend with not burning your bullpen early in the series and he imo gives you the best chance to win Friday night games.

I would then go with Frank because he imo has earned a spot by throwing strikes and is a nice change of pace with movement and location of pitches.

The staff may like Perry but he does not throw enough strikes and is too inconsistent to be your Friday guy. Gotta throw your upside guy on Sunday and if you gotta pull him early, which has happened too often this season, you can because you're gonna exhaust your 'pen on Sunday anyways. I'll add that I know Perry has TJ and from all accounts it's about 1 1/2 year too about 2 seasons after you feel normal and pitch better and have feel. He had it in 2020 I believe so realistically he probably should have heavy improvement come about late April/May when he has some innings under his belt.
