Penalties and Turnovers

It’s been since 2009 since we took care of the ball. Even if you don’t have a good offense and take care of the ball with solid defense and special teams you will be in every game to the end besides maybe OSU.

Edit: Hell maybe I’m wrong about 2009. ISU and Texas tech were games lost due to turnovers. It’s been a long time.

Two ways to look at it.
1. Nebraska did a lot of things well in that time period and was cleaning that up away from being really solid
2. The floor was about to drop out at any moment

Yep. That game made me want to puke. We did everything possible to lose that game. Even with the shitty offense we should have ended that season with a loss or two. The end of the Virginia Tech was also a killer.

Yeah Matt OHanlon redeemed himself vs Ou but that Va Tech game was brutal. It should have been a one loss team heading into Texas.

Put an average offense with that defense and Nebraska is a title contender that year.

Antony West should get some blame on that play too for sitting on that route. Our offense not being able to finish really lost us that game plus others. All we did against VaTech was kick fgs.

the one series against VT that I'll never forget was when our offense had 1st and goal from the VT 6 yard line and then this happened. even a FG on this series gets us to over time at the very worst

That game was on not long ago. I had to turn it off before the end. I couldn’t watch it. It was nice see good special teams. For the most part the teams under Bo were solid in that regard outside one real shitty year which I still don’t know if that year is as bad as what we’ve seen lately.
