They have obviously created a strategy of offering JUCO guys since they will....

A: Be cheaper than a regular portal transfer.

And

B: Be more physically mature than a true freshman in 2026.

It makes sense, but does go a bit against Rhule's press conference where he said we had enough cash to go after the top portal guys.

If these JUCO guys are just taking the leftover 2026 high school spots then it's probably well worth the risk.
When you lose two starting tackles in a season it makes sense to add some depth that's a bit more mature.

Money isn't the only thing.

Perceived path to the playoff, location, and relationships are still all going to be important in getting guys out of the portal.

Also, no matter the commitment we have from boosters there are still teams like Texas Tech that will have access to more money than us.
 
Which would be dumb because he would probably be the starter next year. If he is leaving I would be curious if it was a mutual parting of the ways.

It's a good question but I would imagine McGahee not playing is more about his attitude than his skills. I should have said if he gets his head on straight he could be the starter next year.
