Northwestern Points Spread

100% taking Northwestern. Fitz usually turns it around pretty quick after a bad season.

Plus, we’re installing a whole new offense with an overhauled roster. Fitz will run the ball and eat clock to make it a close game at the end. At which point we will beat ourselves, as usual.
You’re right that will be his game plan for sure. NW strength will be their run game.

Northwestern was bad last year and lost quite a bit iirc. We lost quite a bit too, but it still seems like they should be worse.
I don't know about worse but I haven't seen any reason they'd be better and they were really really bad last year.

What's interesting about Fitz "usually turning it around" after a bad season is those teams that turned it around all returned a handful of all conference caliber players on defense. And even in a bad it rebuilding seasons, the Cats usually fielded a tough defense. That was not the case in 2021, and that awful defense is now even younger, losing 7 starters.

They had one elite player in 2021, and he transferred to Notre Dame.

I completely understand the skepticism related to betting against the Huskers. Hell, it seems like a logical play in week one. But I think Northwestern is going to be miserable again in 2022.

Unrelated to the Nebraska game, I don't believe Northwestern football is going to survive the current portal with NIL. In 2022, there will be 5 players from the NW two deep starting at other Power 5 programs. I think this trend will continue as NW fan support and player earning potential is virtual non existent when compared to Big Ten peers.

NW aiums have plenty of money, but they don't give a fvck about paying players. I bet Fitz leaves sooner rather than later.
