New Orleans Recs

I went there on mine in October. We found a country bar, Boot Scootin Rodeo, that served Busch Light and just threw beads at people on Bourbon Street from the balcony.

If you’re into bourbon, check out Sazarac House. Cool tour and an easy way to score some bottles that I flew home.

I recommend Coops Place to eat one day. Hole in the wall with amazing food.

Pretty good clubs. Saturday night was the best night for that in our experience.

Keep your wallet and phone on you. Had a friend get pick pocketed and lost both.

Doesn't seem like it helped

I've seen the pick pocket thing. We are staying in the French Quarters.

Headed to New Orleans for a bachelor party on Wed. Anyone have any can't miss restaurants or bars? Going fishing in the bayou Friday morning and there is a crawfish festival going on too.
Make sure to drink lots of Big Ass Beers and eat plenty of gumbo and jambalaya

Was there for the final four last April.

Mothers is a must
Oceana Grill

If you go a block or two off Bourbon there’s some great dives

Crossing
Three Legged Dog

More towards the convention center there’s a bar that serves $1 beers.

Ernst Cafe

Any place that serves Fried Chicken after 2am is a must get

Have fun, be safe. Stay in a group. Don’t pick up prostitutes and you’ll be good!

Curious about the $1 beers....

Spotted Cat is very cool. Would also agree on Antonione’s. If you go to Cafe du Monde, go early early to beat the line. Hanging more towards Frenchman instead of Bourbon St tends to be less hectic/more enjoyable.

Spend about $1.50 on some Zatarain’s, $2.99 on some Hillshire Farm sausage, and make some killer jambalaya at the hotel. Buy a case of beer for $20. You’ve already saved about $20-30. Spend that on top of what you would have for those hookers you were told to avoid. The extras are worth it, brother.
