New OL/RB/WR coaches

Turner Gill?
Jeff Jamrog?
Frank Solich?........
some of our fans Incestual love affair with hiring only people with ties to the program is quite concerning, and disturbing. They are more concerned with employing people that are like them than winning games. Hire the best coaches possible, seems pretty simple. I can give a rats ass if the coach use to play at Nebraska, give me the best coach. I think the players and fans deserve to have the best coaches. I know many of our fanbase will discriminate against a coach if they don't have ties to Nebraska.
I forgot about Jeff Jamrog aka Jam Jam

I wonder what he's up to these days

Peetz at OC would line up with another name I’ve heard for one of the other spots that I feel pretty good about the info but I haven’t specifically heard Peetz as OC. That’s assuming you believe Frost is letting the OC make the other hires which I don’t necessarily buy
What name did you hear? Or if you’re not comfortable sharing that, what position does he coach?

I was told that Mickey Joseph has said that he’s coming. The same person told me he was planning to come here in 2020 (or 2019 whenever we hired Lubick) before LSU gave him a salary and title bump to assistant HC and it later was confirmed that he was in fact offered a position here. So I feel good about the source.

I'll ask but I was told he is likely to stay in the south.

If we get Joseph you have to thump that means Peetz is likely the guy

Why would that be the case? They’ve only been on the same staff for a year, it’s not like they’ve been working together for a long time.

I could be wrong but the person I heard it from knows Joseph. Maybe he’s just trying to create a market for himself or maybe things could end up changing like last time but i was told it’s happening. Which if it is, I have to believe there’s already an oc or frost is full of it on how the hiring process is playing out

If it’s Peetz it means Frost doesn’t get it and he’ll be fired after next year. If it isn’t it means we have a shot at a legitimate OC. Either way this board wins.
I would argue there’s already plenty of evidence that Frost doesn’t get it from the bye week alone. So Peetz makes perfect sense on that front. Hope I’m wrong and it’s a heavy hitter.

With so many FBS schools opening this year...12 right now and probably will be up to 25 before conference championship weekend...it may be hard to hire a "heavy hitter" at OC.

With all the job openings there’s a ton of turnover too. Head coaches bouncing back as coordinators after being fired. OCs of head coaches who were fired. Analysts at power five and nfl teams on rehab tours. I don’t buy the notion of no one being available that would move the needle. If you make the money right people will be available. My bigger concern is that serious people will talk to frost and realize he’s not giving up control and walk away.

Plus add in to the equation that if it takes getting a former Power5 Head Coach to be our OC and he does correct our offense then odds are he moves on to another job. Then is Frost going to slide himself into the OC position muddying the waters again? So we would be back to the same issues of Frost controlling things or searching for an OC. Frost has shown me no signs that he can truly change. Great leaders adapt, motivate, take the blame for failures and correct them, innovate,........ and over the last 4 years we have seen a very stubborn coach who has stood by his underperforming friends and continued to make the same dumb mistakes in Year 4 that he made in Year 1. It feels like he thinks he is the smartest man in the room at all times and wants to prove that no matter what his way will work. Sometimes you need to wave the White Flag. Can a Tiger change his Stripes?

What about Jay Boulware? Impressive resume and has to be wanting to get out of the shitshow at Texas
Not a name I’ve heard mentioned but after looking am really intrigued. What catches my eye the most is he has a lot of ST coaching experience, included 9 years of coaching ST/RBs at Cockeye State and Oklahoma.

He appears to be coaching in some capacity with the Pittsburgh Steelers currently, as he was not retained by Sark.

What I wouldn’t give for someone to come in and fix our offense and move on in 2-3 years after blowing it out of the water at donu. Would be a breath of fresh air to solve for a positive issue for once.

Same here. But I think, this whole carousel is going to go absolutely nuts here in about a week.

I am guessing it's hard to get anybody to commit right now because there is going to be a lot of moving around this winter.
No doubt.

I would even just love some names. I know a lot stems from the OC and who they will want, but Frost has got to have some names in mind too. Obviously we’ve heard Mickey Joseph, but I’d be curious on names Frost has interest in for OL/RB.

Especially with the team sucking sooo bad I need to hopeful info for the future haha
