New NW home field

Sounds like that is the preliminary plan for South stadium.

In south stadium I would....

Field level suites

Maybe bottom 1/3rd chair back seating with more leg room

Do a bad ass open concourse with maybe some table seats with servers right before the concourse.

Do seating to a patio at the top that leads to a bar/grill/sportsbook. Have beer tents and all the other shit too.

Then underneath have your museum of Nebraska that you can use to sell tours for. Have the restaurant open year round. Do game day specials for when they are playing away from home.

Plenty of bathrooms too.
the whole thing will be stadium seating

I'm in the minority here but I wouldn't mind seeing them fire bomb memorial stadium and constructing a state of the art volleyball arena on top of the ashes

Makes sense. Ryan Field is shitty currently and they don’t fill it
Been to a few of Husker Games there and not impressed. I would say it might be the worst Power5 Stadium I have been in. Felt so outdated. Almost more like a Coliseum than a stadium. Every time I was there it seemed like there were more Nebraska Fans than NW fans. We bought scalped tickets well below face value right in front of the stadium.

I honestly think this is the future of stadiums. Less capacity, more luxury, more intimate. If I were Nebraska I would cut about 30k seats out of memorial and spruce it up.
Very much this.

I think CFB stadiums as a whole got stupid when they got competitive with each other in how much they could hold. NU in particular packs in about 20K more people that it can support. I liked going to Memorial Stadium because I was watching my team, but there's no doubt it is way less comfortable than other stadiums. I prefer smaller venues anymore.

That and the home viewing experience is always getting better. I think you find new stadiums rarely going over 70K anymore.

I agree with this. I've been to a game at North Dakota State(19,000 capacity) and it was one of the loudest games I've ever been to. Hopefully, Turd is able to get the funds to get rid of the bench seats. More room, cup holders, more enclosed areas

FWIW I think games will be at Solider until the Cubs season is done and then I think they will have them at Wrigley.... Or that is what a NW beat writer said a month ago.

Going to see NW NU at Wrigley would be interesting.

Didn’t they play one way at Wrigley a couple years ago because the field is too small?

Sounds like my kind of place.

terribly dated stadium. Really not a good place to watch a game. One of the worst I have been in. Dated & uncomfortable. Also sucks that there is really nothing to do around the stadium for drinking, eating or tailgating. Boring place for a game. Good part was the Huskers whooped them every game I went to there.
