New iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Ultra

Apparently it’s Apple that refuses to make their phones compatible with the new texting technology (RCS I believe) and instead convert all texts from Android to old SMS technology. They could easily support newer technology but it forces people to buy iPhones to avoid the “green bubbles” and quality issues with texting to androids

I'm still rocking a XR that is almost four years old now. The battery life is starting to be an issue if I'm away from a charger and using it heavily and the quality of my pictures is dogshit compared to anyone with a newer phone.

This morning I saw an email from work that the new iPhones were available for preorder. My company subsidizes the cost so I just ordered the 14 Pro 512GB for $650.

Mine actually dropped a new iPhone into an open-top ginormous diet Coke she'd just purchased from Cubby's. An open-top soda fountain cola ... no lid nor straw. Incredible.

FWIW, you'd see a big leap forward in performance from that XS to the new 14, particularly in the camera and connectivity to more and faster networks while you're burning up the highways in rural Nebraska and Kansas. It's nice to have (fast) signal vs. being in "paperweight mode". My $0.02 on that one, amigo.

UPDATE: my wife broke another phone, she went and upgraded herself to a 14 pro plus now and boys let me tell you one thing… they need to fucking chill on the size. My wife’s phone is just simply too big.
