Breaking New football schedule released

In case you're wondering, Nebraska now has to close with Minnesota @Michigan Wisconsin @Cockeyes.

It was @Wisconsin, Purdue, Illiois, @ Cockeyes and they got Wisconsin after Nebraska's bye.

The end of this schedule is substantially tougher in my opinion

Right but the 8 game conference schedule makes your conference look better. You are guaranteeing 7 more losses in your league every year with a 9 game schedule

That still doesn't bug me. I think the best way to make your conference look good is by beating the shit out of other good teams in non-con and bowl games

That still doesn't bug me. I think the best way to make your conference look good is by beating the shit out of other good teams in non-con and bowl games

I understand that, but a big part of it is perception.

An 8-4 team is more likely to be ranked than a 7-5 team. So you get more 8-4, 9-3 teams in your conference ranked because you play one less tough game, it props up your best teams because it looks like they beat more ranked opponents.

It seems Minney Cockeye Wisky & us all trade opponents in November but we get Michigan & toss in Illinois, so 5 opponents that will be physically demanding games of run/defense. Alvarez tried to look fair but with a route to fuck us over, soft first half to just constant shots to the body.

If we're going to have tough games all together, I'd much rather it be at the end of the season than the beginning. At least it gives us a much better chance to get our shit together and get some momentum...or not make the entire season miserable. Maybe I can at least pretend for a little while that we don't suck.

I assumed Bielema would stick to the Cockeye/Wisky philosophy. Maybe new guy brings in a more sophisticated system but if they’re out-gunned offensively, I bet they try & slow it down & live with 3 yards at a time
