Breaking Nelson to NFL

I hope more guys who qualify for the covid year go this route. He played 4 years here. It's over. Move on.

Sad to see him go but now we’ve got 90 scholarship people.

This one surprises me. I would think he would make more in NIL
Eh he is a draft pick... I am researching where he will fall, but even if he was the last pick of the draft he is looking at making about 3.8 mil. What I think is interesting is a 3rd round pick is only worth about 1.5 mil more over 4 years.

So JMO it only makes sense to go early if you are a high taxing position like RB, you get a top 2 round grade or you think he has maxed out (which could be).

Anyway I don't think he was making more than a mil a year in NIL.

Maybe he thinks he is maxed out, but losing him stings.

I mean honestly guys we have won a total of like 20 games the last five years combined. We are rebuilding from scratch it doesn’t really matter.

Having said that, good luck, Kenny Powers.

Man, this will forever be the worst sentiment on this board. Good players do still play on bad teams on occasion. Hes a good player. Losing bad players does not progress a team.

There is a difference between a good player and the least shit player. I’m not really sure Nelson is a good player. It helps to have some continuity but we need new blood on the edge.

Yeah it really sucks that he was a 2nd team All B1G edge rusher.

Your first sentence was right, but he doesn't fit that. He just gets shit on for some reason because he wasn't the second coming of Grant Wistrom.

Not saying he’s not a good player, just saying we are a shit team with him and we will be a shit team without him. It’s not like he was out there single handedly winning (or closely losing lol) games. I don’t understand what about that is so hard to wrap your head around.

Because next year isn't last year. No one worth a shit comes in and says "let's get rid of these all conference players." Those are the ones you build with. You telling me you can look at our receiver room and say you wouldn't want Palmer back? Or you wouldn't have wanted Jurgens and Daniels back this last year? Your logic is on the same level as Rufus going into every thread about a transfer saying some dumb shit about the former teams record.
