Breaking Nelson to NFL

dont blame him but also dont think he’ll last long or actually do anything. hes a tweener for sure & isnt a good enough pass rusher/run stopper to make up for his really poor coverage skills

Good luck to him. Dude played his heart out and was underappreciated by many.

That said, I'm not sure his prospects are too high. Being 2nd team all big will help, but being a tweener is gonna be tough to overcome, a la Jojo, unless he tests better than expected.

Can he make more money next year in the NFL than he can with NIL? He’s more productive than Mathis who got $650k on the open market

Good for him. Never questioned Nelson’s work ethic or passion.

I’m not sure how his archetype as a player would fit into the alleged 3-3-5 we will run.
The whole 335 thing IMO is completely overblown. They’re going to run a system that fits the players. I’ll be more interested in the coverage style and how they run fit. That’s what matters.

So he’ll play in the NFL for 10 years ?

Compton had some really solid NFL years in his younger days and it’s revisionist history to state otherwise.

This one hurts. No way to spin it.
That wasn't a shot at him, that's exactly how I think it will go. Undrafted, underdog. Work his ass off any chance he gets. Makes some rosters, sees some time. Play for a decade off an on and just simply be productive. It for sure stings.

I did not expect this. I would think these players that could be considered "marginal" NFL prospects would err on the side of chasing one more year of NIL. He will be missed. Good luck to him.
