I'd take the highly rated 7-1 Center over the Italian. Center Leo Curtis is one of the highest rated recruits we have gotten in the last decade. I think only 5 Star Bryce McGowens was rated higher by the recruiting services. We beat out some Bluebloods for him

Especially when you consider what we need right now. Yes, this year is likely developmental for Curtis. But it also would have been for Perez. Curtis if he can rebound and play defense he’ll find a spot on the floor and get minutes. The path for Perez was quite bleak. You can’t really promise him anything.

plus looking at the next seasons roster all of our 4/5's except 7-1 Curtis & Berke will be running out of eligibility. Mast, Garcia & Jarusevicius are on their final season.
