Game ThreadNebrasketball Game #15: @ Cockeye - Tuesday, January 7, 7:00pm Peacock
As someone said earlier, Cockeye lives and dies by the 3 and out defense forces teams to shoot the three. If we are being honest, shooting 50% from the free throw line and missing layups in the second half cost us the game.
SIAP. The Sandforts and Dix is everything we hope Essegian should be (future Frager and Janowski too). Essegian has flashes of it but can just disappear as well

When he was on the bench in the first half, we made a nice run before giving it back in the last few minutes. From the few games I've seen this year, our team is really streaky either way.
And he had that 3 from the top of the key for his 2nd make I think that bounced around 4 times before finally falling in. I think that one cut it to 7, if he doesn’t get that bounce he doesn’t go nuclear and we probably win by double digits.

Our defense dared Cockeye to make 3's and they did. Simple as that. They miss the wide open looks from 3 like other teams have (Pickle Smoochers, Indiana, UCLA) we win by 10+. That's how she goes.

I agree Sandfort made a lot of tough ones on his heater instead of passing for a better look from 3.
The other games they just missed a lot of open 3's. Chance Loenser is willing to take and it's worked so far minus our 3 losses. I like the scheme with our personnel.
It was definitely a gut punch loss, similar to many of the road losses last year. Hopefully they can bounce back like last year. Its college basketball, and weird things happen. I mean, look at Tennessee last night. They were the #1 team and got blown out by 30 on the road.
