Oddly enough, it happened the last time they were ranked, in late December, 2018.
They were ranked 24th in the final poll of the year, and played at #25 Cockeye, before losing by 9.
Odd thing about that ranking is Nebraska was 11-2 with a blowout loss to Texas Tech, and a bad loss to Minnesota on their early resume. The Huskers immediately lost to Maryland and Cockeye after getting ranked.
That Husker team's season went downhill once Copeland suffered his knee injury. However, I will argue that team was doomed from the beginning considering Tanner Borchardt and Nana Antenken were basically their top two bench players.
I do think Nebraska will remain in the poll, even with a loss to Illinois. That Wisconsin win by 30 carries some weight.

After your last prediction, I’m interpreting this as direct instructions Jim and I’m picking up what you’re putting down. I will be putting the majority of my net worth on Nebraska ML. I’ve never felt more confident about anything in my entire life.

I'm expecting Illinois to win this game for a few reasons:
1. Its difficult to win on the road in the Big Ten, for every team, not just Nebraska.
2. Illinois has already played a bunch of elite competition. They are certainly tested.
3. This is their Big Ten opener, and its a late afternoon Saturday game with students still on campus. Place will be rocking.
4. Nebraska really hasn't had to face a team with shot blockers yet. The Illini have 3 legit shot blockers. Teams with rim protectors can sometimes still hold up defensively, even after getting beaten to the basket.
So, I do think Illinois likely wins this game in the 87-78 range.
However, I've been reading their message boards and the tone about the game includes the exact same fan comments I was reading from Pickle Smoochers fans and Wisconsin fans before the Nebraska game:
"Nebraska still doesn't have a Quad 1 win."
"Nebraska hasn't beaten anybody good."
"If we want to be an NCAA tournament team, we should win this game easily."
Although, I did enjoy this comment from the Ilinois 247 Board:
"Sam Hoiberg looks exactly how I imagine Richard Dreyfuss looked in 1967."
