Denis Badalau, a versatile 6-foot-7 forward who is originally from Romania, has emerged as a promising international prospect.

After moving to Italy four years ago, he's now eligible to compete as an Italian player. However, with strong interest from programs in the Big Ten, Big 12, ACC and A-10, Badalau is set to take his talents to the United States as an NCAA athlete. Badalau's agent, Stefano Meller spoke to 247Sports about his client's game and pending college decision with 247Sports.

"Denis is busy playing with his First Division team which will play into the end of May," Meller said. "The regular season ends in mid-May and then playoffs are right after. As soon as the season ends, we will do college visits. We've already received some invitations for visits. But, at the moment, we cant do anything. We're expecting a decision this month as soon as his duty with the club is over."

Badalau, himself, also spoke with 247Sports about what he's learned playing high-level international basketball.

"I've had a good year, so far," Badalau said. "I learned that you have to be disciplined, focused and prepared for the opportunity that's given. You always have to be ready, you have to eat well, sleep well and treat yourself the proper way because you're not 15 anymore. You're playing with men."

He also knows what intangibles he will bring to the college program that he chooses.

"I bring a strong mentality and the spirit of a fighter. I'm the type of player who pushes others to get better which makes me better," he explained. "I can spread the floor, run the floor and pass. I bring a lot of energy on defense. I'm a very good transition. And, offensively, I'm a very good three-point shooter."

There will be several factors in play for Badalau when choosing a college. However, he wants to go to a program that creates and develops NBA talent.

"I'm looking for a good environment to live," he said. "I want a team where my teammates wish to get better and learn things. I want a team that wins. The goal is to go to the NBA, so I want to showcase my talent and be seen."
