Lifelong diehard Nebrasketball fan. Man, I am struggling at the moment with current state of college basketball, our lack of NIL to compete and to be honest, a coaching staff that lacks any sort of recruiting bite or major connections. Never felt more hopeless over the state of the program and ability to succeed going forward with Hoigberg.

Agree. I'm a Hoiberg Homer but cringe when I see some of the film of players we are going after in the portal. Many don't look skilled enough for the B1G. Is our NIL that bad? Are we missing a coach with recruiting chops that can identify talent? From the transfer portal Williams & Gary are the only additions we've have that have exceeded or met expectations.

I've read all season we're dancing with Mast in the lineup. He's a portal. Shit, an easy case could be made we're dancing with Allick at the 5 instead of Meah.

I read Berke was a projected 1st day guy going in to UCLA. He's portal.

Morgan was a portal and gave us 8 & 5 off the bench. I'd take that all over again from a backup 5.

Walker was a portal. I'd take another of him, all day every day.

Greisel was a portal.

From 16-8 to choking has nothing to do with NIL. At some point, this fan base is going to hold coaches accountable instead of pulling a Pelini and pointing fingers.

Spoke with someone I know in the UNO development department. Crutch had been expecting this even before the conference tourney.

Sutton and crutch has a great relationship so it was hard to portal but crutch being a great mentor told him to pretty much go thrive.

The new market of NIL will kill teams like Omaha where they can’t have sustainability when year after year their best player(s) portal but crutch imo is a great coach and culture builder that he will continue to find a way to thrive

I don't see a smooth shooter. I see a capable one. I do see a guy that could be a very good defender, rebounder and someone who's a plus athlete that can finish at the rim. Would remind me more of a smaller Juwan Gary...or the guard version of a Juwan Gary. Which could have quite a bit of value in the big ten.
