Nebraska AD shifts Memorial Stadium renovation plans
No longer is the South Stadium coming down after the 2024 season, a major piece of the $450 million project.

But the stadium is a fucking dump, seating and layout is garbage, only thing it has going for it is history.
So many better stadiums. They needed one of those tornados to take it out
I think you severely overestimate how much they would make in beer sales.View attachment 37505
Even the blue hairs (almost me), know that selling beer needs to happen asap. I would think they could almost fund the entire project, with proceeds off of beer.
I think it's more about appealing to the youths of America, imoI think you severely overestimate how much they would make in beer sales.
It sucks for the South stadium fans. But if they eventually do what Turd wanted with the south stadium and get rid of the grandfathered donations some won't be able to afford to sit there anymore. We'll be ok. Just win some games and the stadium will fix itself.
The Southies are gonna have to suck it up.
I think it's important to not conflate "afford" with "want to". I think one of the big missing components in the university's analysis both with Tre.v and post-Tre.v is this idea that alienating people who currently pay money for seats can be easily replaced by people who will pay more money for seats. It sucks for the South stadium fans. But if they eventually do what Turd wanted with the south stadium and get rid of the grandfathered donations some won't be able to afford to sit there anymore.
Dannen having them do the upgrades to the East and West stadium first make sense because that's where the most revenue is. The South stadium doesn't produce the same level of revenue as the others and will probably be the last thing they do.
Halfway there. 90% (probably more) of the.NIL donations sit in East and West stadium so they are taking care of them first. Further, can you get those people to give you money if it’s not for “them”? They’ll give it if you take care of “them” first so that’s why the order changed.Didn't read, south stadium is a problem. But money going to NIL is more important for winning.

So if you're almost a blue hair, what does that make @LoudHogRider and I?View attachment 37505

monkey where will i pull up my wheel chair to?Whst they will find out is….removing grandfathered seating/licensing & increasing costs will substantially reduce demand
Even if we annually win 7-8 games a year. Few will commit much more than the price of a ticket. The people who “fill” the stadium are mostly a bunch of poors
South stadium will eventually be removed. & replaced by a giant scoreboard & “fanzone” with vastly reduced seating. Students & band will be moved to that end but doubtful they will remove 20k+ seats & replace with 20k seats
Probably more like 5-7k max
Dannen may have saved major egg on the face bc spending 600million to rebuild the South & the end result being you price out the poors would be colossally embarrassing
Nebraska is an anomaly getting 70-80k to show up weekly for bad football
Most places can’t get that support with good football
Eventually we will become a “walk up” fanbase, picking & choosing the games that are worthwhile when we are playing well
It comes down to winning big. Play like we have & the new price model will commonly result in a half empty stadium
So capacity is likely getting reduced so fans will have competition to pay up
