I was too busy getting drunk to watch much of the Cockeye game, but their QB only threw for 100 yards against Maryland. Hopefully we stack the box and make this guy beat us.

This week is all about us being able to stop the run. Nothing more. Cockeye can run the rock. Slow that down, and we get win 7.

If the defense lays another egg, then TW may need to go. Too inconsistent this season.

Stopping their run game is the game. Put 5 on the line, often. None of this soft shit, TW.

I think protecting Raiola is the biggest key to the game. I believe Nebraska can stop a one dimensional running team.

But Cockeye has been able to pound the rock this season after numerous big plays on defense. They're getting after opposing QBs while producing sacks and turnovers.

This will be even more imperative in Cockeye City, under the lights. That place gets rowdy and the crowd feeds off of big defensive plays.

The easiest way to stop a run game is to get a lead. If we can get up two scores then their offense will be forced to do what they aren't good at.

Johnson is a good back but I don't think he's much better of a player than Woody Marks. Woody Marks also had a better supporting cast for NU to worry about. NU couldn't stack the box to stop him.

Johnson will get his yards but when Cockeye gets off-schedule and forced into passing situations, they're fucked.

Tough game but Cockeye is beatable.

It's a pretty evenly matched game. Usually games like that come down to emotion and desire. Whoever wants to win the game more will probably pull away. Nebraska has been a good team when it gets the emotional element of the game correct. If Nebraska gets off to a hot start again offensively then it could be a very good day.

I hope Io_a's RB decides to forego the game and concentrate on the draft.

That much of a locker room cancer?
Not entirely, he played the part pretty well and captained the team until Sullivan took over. He was a good teammate after getting hurt last year.

When he got "hurt" (benched) this year he left town for awhile and wasn't planning on needing to come back. 2nd and 3rd string both got hurt. He's been back and around but the team has really rallied for Stratton and there isn't much to play for anyway. Kirk is big on handling things in house and using injuries to keep players' reputations intact in the media if things leak. Jemari Harris isn't hurt either, his agent told him not to play. Sebastian Castro missed MSU for the same reason earlier this year.

Best way to protect him & win is to run the ball or at least beat em on the edges then u can pick ur spots to use Dylan & beat em over top. Their defense excels when they can stay in their base cover 2 & kick ur ass with 4 lineman.

If we run the ball like we did against Wisky then I think this game is ours for the taking.

We need at least 4 guys on the DL and having RVP playing in this game will help. Last game he played in was Rutgers I believe and we just needed to stop the run to beat them. My only fear against them is staying in our run lanes. They are always good at back cutting and taking it for a big gain. On offense I feel like Barney with his speed can have a big game. Run a couple of sweeps to keep their defense honest and then hit the runs up the middle. Get the ball to him in the middle of the field and let him run by them.
