Very weird timing. I think Booth (the GM) had to go - they are wasting the prime years of one of the best players of our generation because they aren't building around him. But canning Malone right before the playoffs seems odd to me.

It’s always hard to tell bc we don’t have all the info. Did Malone push to not make any trades after losing Green, Brown and KCP? Did he push for giving a max contract to Murray when he has been out of shape and hurt since winning the title? IMO Porter and Murray needed to be traded for hungry players before the season and before Murray’s max contract.

There has been at least a 2 year long rift between Malone and Booth. Like they hadn't spoken in two years. Booth would bring in new players, and then Malone would refuse to play them much if at all.

The team owner said they had already decided to fire both Malone and Booth once the season was over (one could assume another bling may have saved their jobs I suppose), but with the recent bout of losses, the owner decided to fire them both now. The owner likes Adelman Jr (who has been an assistant coach) and wants to see what he can do.
