Sign Up Now!Looks like they were going to be Class B this yearNever even knew it existed. What class are they playing South and Ralston?
That may have been a little optimistic on their part, eh? But IIRC, classification is based on overall student enrollment, so they probably didn't have a lot of flexibility on where they were slotted.Looks like they were going to be Class B this year
Honestly I think it’s just the area of town. Have to imagine the enrollment is majority Hispanic and that there’s not much interest in football. That may have been a little optimistic on their part, eh? Still ... not great, Bob. Looks like years of helicopter soccer moming and media coverage of CTE have had a chilling effect on the prospective athlete pool. Omaha School District residents will have the $$$ saved cheerfully refunded or credited to next year's property tax bill. I'm just sure the Omaha School Board will do that for 'em ...
You're probably right. I wasn't even curious enough to do a search on where the new HS is located, because ... GO BADGERS! #StateChamps!Honestly I think it’s just the area of town. Have to imagine the enrollment is majority Hispanic and that there’s not much interest in football.
Lot of smaller schools have gone 6 man in SE Nebraska. I think there is a whole district for it in the areaAre numbers down for football across the state? I know some schools dropped varsity football this year because they had 12-15 kids out.
The problem is most small towns are too proud and stubborn to consolidate. Are numbers down for football across the state? I know some schools dropped varsity football this year because they had 12-15 kids out.
Falls City is one example. Sacred Heart is too proud of their 8 man trophies. The two schools are just 4 blocks apart and SH uses the public school’s brand new field. The public school does not produce a good product as it lacks the needed athletes they could gain and FC as a whole could possibly produce one decent team that’s relevant in 11 man unlike 8 man.The problem is most small towns are too proud and stubborn to consolidate.
The old folks doing all the voting in these towns still have grudges from the 60s over the football game with the town 10 miles away that didn’t go their way.
It just hurts the kids in the long run and is why a lot of small town parents will send their kids to the closest decent size school.
Nebraska needs to get with the program and start consolidating like Cockeyes and other states have. It’s sad when you see the number of 8 man football teams in the state compared to 11 man. So many 8 man teams.
WOOOOOOOW. Name a school “Buena Vista” and @HCFord1 just calls them uninterested HispanicsHonestly I think it’s just the area of town. Have to imagine the enrollment is majority Hispanic and that there’s not much interest in football.
Pretty sure it was more about the location of the school. THATS RACIST still applies.WOOOOOOOW. Name a school “Buena Vista” and @HCFord1 just calls them uninterested Hispanics
Will be “liking” with the THAT’S RACIST.
Skutt did. We absolutely throttled them my Jr year when they only had freshman and sophomores. This is a dumb post. They don’t have a junior or senior class yet. Of course they weren’t going to play football. Jesus
Yeah and Lincoln Southwest was absolute dogshit when they first opened for the same reasons but they still had a team.Skutt did. We absolutely throttled them my Jr year when they only had freshman and sophomores.
Really was unsafe though. One kick returner left in the ambulence. They kneeled the next few.Yeah and Lincoln Southwest was absolute dogshit when they first opened for the same reasons but they still had a team.
We went up there and beat them in the playoffs the first or second year they consolidated, was their first home loss in a very long time we were told.Howells Dodge consolidated and then laid the smackdown on Nebraska D something football's candy asses
and you think your response would want OPS do this to freshman and sophomores?Skutt did. We absolutely throttled them my Jr year when they only had freshman and sophomores.
