Looks like fundraising is going well.

bruh their student population has dropped off a cliff, currently less than 15,000

KSU's endowment is around $500 million

Nebraska's student pop is around 21,000 and our endowment is $2 BILLION

KSU is like dog shit on our feet

I was hoping Missouri would drop to DIII status following their shit swastika & get woke protests a few years back. I’ve never cared for their fan base - one of the few I have enough disdain for to actually comment on - and was thrilled to watch their entire university start to crater following those events.

Any truth to the rumor there were a couple of big swinging dicks that threatened to pull their pledge if Frost was fired? On the flip side, Moos being canned and replaced by TA had to have helped fundraising efforts.
I’m assuming that was part of what was going on or maybe some of the big wigs that are backing Frost promised to pledge more to get to the 100 Mil mark if Frost was retained…

I did not know that. Wonder what the reason for that is?

What about KU? We're heading up to Lawrence tomorrow to take the kids to the basketball game. Thank goodness they found a replacement for Harvard backing out.

They are hemorrhaging students to Ft Hays/Emporia/Wichita/Pitt St. and the boosters in rural KS got super mad at KSU for going all in on BLM and masks/Fauci’anity. (Get Woke, go Broke)

My Dad is really good friends with the guy in charge of the fundraising for KSU boosters west of MHK and north of I70. He said it’s night and day, used to have almost 100 farmers/ranchers who were good for ~$100,000k a year, now less than 20 still donating.

Said it’s the same for the other booster divisions of the State.

As mentioned before, KSU ain’t rich so a few million in donations is really killing then. Especially for the non-sports related departments.

No idea about KU, I was just in Lawrence and it’s still the same. Nice for Kansas but I mean it’s a complete shit hole compared to most Big 10 cities. (It makes Lincoln look like Dubai)

Ask @MtnHusker for KU info

That's wild.

That being said, it's anecdotal but a lot more kids in the town I live in choosing Pitt St these days. They always had a lot of kids go to FHSU and K State and a few to KU (my wife and her brother were both in that group) but now less are going to KU and K State and are going to Pitt St.

There is a reason why Frost figuring his shit out would be a very good thing for the university.
In these types of building campaigns, contributions are pledged over an extended period of time, so it would be naïve of anyone to think that the same HC/Coaching Staff would still be here by the time they pay off their contribution. Now, it influencing pulling the trigger on the give is another story.

FWIW, the structure will be 75% done by the time Frost is fired next November.

When they went 100% online but still full price (for a not prestigious and low quality education) it caused the numbers to plummet.

They have entirely empty dorms (not a joke) and the KS bd of regents is freaking out cuz with OU/UT leaving and the student pop decline they don’t think KSU is gonna be able to pay some it’s various lines of credit back. (Would be hilarious)

Apparently fucking Washburn has added so many students (and boosters leaving shit in their inheritance) that Washburn’s endowment and student pop are both now over 1/2 of KSU. Imagine if UNK was only 30-40% smaller in students and $$$ as UNL.

My God, it would be a scandal.

Washburn? Jesus nothing against the Ichabods but it’s in Topeka that’s a top 5 shit hole in Kansas

No, What I am saying is that from everything I have heard, read ITT, etc... people with money like Frost. If Frost figures it out and wins 8+ games, and popping every once in a while, that is a best case scenario for the university.

I am not saying we wont be able to fundraise without Frost.... I am just under the impression that the people with $$$ are pro Frost. Therefore the ceiling for fundraising is higher under Frost than maybe another coach.

Frost succeeding is the best option for the university for a multitude of reasons, but Frost has to do it.

Definitely sounds right. If the money didn’t like Frost he’d be unemployed.

Didn’t the Peeds donate quite a bit to get the project to break ground?
They are buddies with Davison/Frost, so I’d say that is highly probable
The people giving $ are very pro Frost.

I can very comfortably confirm that this is exactly what happened.

That is what I find so incredibly odd about the whole scenario. Most uber-successful business people value winning and relationships, but if its one or the other, winning always comes first. The "strings attached" contributions would seem to indicate winning doesn't matter.

You're missing a very big component that these kind of folks value over just about everything: power

In general NU as a whole cleaned up a lot of their fundraising the last few years. This is a good sign as it shows *most* of the big dickers are all swimming in the same direction

Yup but even though Peed, TO and the TC Stepped up to protect Frost it did come at a cost. Quite a few big boosters who wanted Frost replaced are not happy they were "Out Powered". Lost the pissing match and we can not really count on them to donate until Frost is gone or we have a winning well coached team on the field. And at least 2 of them were willing to open their check books to help off set Frost's Buy Out. Husker Boosters and Husker Nation are both divided on keeping Frost. The TC definitely won this round of the Booster Fights. But it is hard to go against the wishes of TO, Pillen, Peed, Claire...... and expect to keep your job or win an argument. Follow the money for your answers.

It really is an interesting dynamic, isn't it? But I guess when it comes down to it, when the money offered for the new practice facility is 3x+ the money for the buyout and from one particular party, the obvious answer is going with the money. Love it or hate it, it makes sense financially for the program in the long run.

I agree, but given the current power structure within the University Admin. and Ath. Dept., there isn't anyone currently that will push back against the power brokers. It's not an Eichorst/Perlman situation, or even Moos. Removing a football coach doesn't change that dynamic.
