Anyone else feel that about 25% of our fanbase suffers from Lateeftardation? A nonexistent QB run game for 2 years must be the equivalent to the lack of oxygen to the brain.

Dont get me wrong, I think he has potential, but the thought of him being the starter going to next year is worrisome. People acting like he was a good QB in the last 2 games of the season makes me wonder if this is a newly unnamed diagnosis.

Am I being harsh? Or have you also seen a evidence of Lateeftards in your own personal lives?

We are Nebraska so anything negative you say about our football team has a 99.9% chance of being correct.

I'm excited about Lateef, but I don't think he should start next year. I think he can still be #2 and still work on getting the playbook down, so that means we need to bring in a senior QB transfer.

There is no way that we should start Fall camp with a true sophomore and a redshirt sophomore as our two deep and expect anything more than a 4 win season next year.

I think Raiola lovers mistook their fat boys criticism as those fans wanting Lateef as the starter.
A not insignificant number of Raiola haters were outright calling for Lateef to start before Dylan went down, so there's not a lot of mistaking that.

For me personally, put me down for Lateef needs to work on his consistent accuracy & physical build, and will be someone I think would be ready to start in year 3.

Not after the Cockeye game. This is crazy.

Fans went nuts for him after the UCLA game. Then over 50% of fans said he played bad vs PSU. And probably 100% of fans said he played bad vs Cockeye.

I actually think too many people jumped OFF the bandwagon. The Lateeftards to me are people who used those 2 games (vs extremely good defenses) as evidence he'll never be a B1G caliber starting QB. I think it's way to early to say Lateef will never have 'it' as a high level QB.

I'd say let the hammy heal up, sign a JR-SR portal QB and let Lateef compete with him in the spring (he'll lose but that's OK).

As far as NU fans who think Lateef is CJ Stroud right now.....I think OP is making that up. I've seen it 50-1 ratio people giving up on him and almost blaming him for PSU/Cockeye loss.

Lateef your 2026 starter is the most sure was to get Matt fired.

Base your opinion on whether or not you want that to happen

I have not heard one single person say he'll never be a good QB.

I've heard several people say he's not ready

I've seen tons of people saying he just won't have the build to be a B1G/SEC QB. Ever. "He has to run to be effective and he's just gonna get injured all the time." I've seen that posted probably 100 times.

Less on this boards. But I've seen tons of NU fans saying due to his slim size the best he can hope for is being like a Pac-12 QB where it's less physical.

They might end up being right. My point is that it's way too early to know that.
