There were at least 16 official visitors in Lincoln this weekend for Nebraska. The Nebraska staff has indicated over social media there may have been multiple commits over the weekend. One of those commitments was Beverly (N.J.) Palmyra running back Kwinten Ives.

“Everyone, all of the coaches and the rest of the staff made me feel so welcome there,” Ives said. “It’s a family there. I felt like I was part of the team this weekend.”

Coaching staff was huge for Ives

The coaching staff at Nebraska was a big reason why Ives committed to the Huskers. He loves their experience. In particular, their experience in the NFL.

“Yeah, absolutely they have experience coaching both in college and in the pros,” Ives said. “They said that they could develop me into that player that could be in the NFL.”

It’s been a long trip for Ives, but it’s flown by he says. “I got up to Nebraska on Thursday. It was a long trip, but I really liked it here!”

Ives will play a big role in Nebraska offense

While on his official visit there was a chance to speak with the offensive staff about how he will be used in the offense. The Huskers plan to use Ives’ speed, athleticism and hands once he gets to Lincoln.

“We did talk about the offense here with coach Satterfield and coach Barthel. They said that they see me as a speed guy who can get to the edge and break away. Nebraska also likes me because I can catch the ball.”

Ives was also very impressed with the facilities at Nebraska on top of the coaching staff and the offense that they plan to run. He really liked thinking about playing in Memorial Stadium when he was there.

“The stadium was amazing,” Ives said. “When I was there I could see myself there, and I could see all of the fans in the stands. The trip was a “10”. All of their facilities were amazing.”

Ives says that he will sign in December and will not be able to enroll at Nebraska until June.

This is typical Rhule. Add more speed to the roster.
This year is what is because you’re going to have to take chances. If we are taking a lot of kids like this with poor offer lists after this year I’ll be concerned.
