If they're smart, they'll hire Monken, but they won't.

I also find it funny in the tater island thread someone made a comment about the "last Buffalo coach didn't work out so well." and Dean comes to Gill's defense because he was forced to hire a bunch of people he didn't know to be on staff. GTFO with that bullshit. Gill sunk himself.

Yeah, Kansas seems like a perfect place for Monken. I don't think they'll do it, but I would love to see what he could do at a P5 program. Thought Illinois would've been a good fit too.

Definitely agree, but would Monken accept the Kansas job?

I don't know. He seems to have a great gig at Army right now, and they have things rolling. I want to see the move simply to see him bring that offense to the conference to be radically different. I think anyone is nuts to take that job though. Always second fiddle. And they get exactly dog shit for talent right now in comparison to everywhere else.

Never forget Kansas had JaMarr Chase committed

He was never going there. And with any of those other coaches, they aren't getting that type of talent. IMO. They'd be best developing their talent, and running a system where they can shorten the game and win ugly. At least under fat Mangenius they got some talent and a spark plug QB and then developed them into some really good players.

I'd hate if he left Army, as they're my 2nd favorite team.

I'd be happy for him while the Cadets would likely start to suck ass very quickly.

For sure. Mangino was probably their best chance to rise up, and obviously that didn't quite work out. Playing whack-a-mole every 3-4 years w/ new coaches and new systems is never going to get them anywhere. Probably isn't a coincidence that the best era for KU football was when KSU was at its recent shittiest.

Their floor instantly raises if they get Monken and become the one P5 team running the triple. Otherwise it's just pulling cards out of a hat hoping you get Jamey Chadwell (and even that dude was pretty bad his first couple years at CCU).
