There's a pharmacy on the opposite corner of the block that has been broken into for the second time in two months. I don't lock my house, garage, or cars, but might change those practices.

About two hours ago, I saw an unmarked police car pull into the state farm agent's business parking lot across the alley from my house. 1.5 hours ago, I heard police shouting "Brookings police, come out with your hands up!" Evidently, it hasn't gone well since then.

I have many guns, but literally zero ammo. I'll trust that I won't need any of it since the swat team is here. The police dude told me I can watch if I want to, but stay the fuck out of the way.

Another burglary reported at Brothers Pharmacy - Brookings Register

BROOKINGS – Brookings Police are investigating another burglary at Brothers Pharmacy, less than two months after a similar incident was reported at the business.

It's kinda odd considering its' rated #12 on SafeWise's "100 Safest Cities in America" list.

The SWAT officer was way friendlier than the officer that pulled me over last summer for walking my dogs suspiciously.

I live five blocks east of the downtown bars, and three blocks south of campus. The usual shenanigans' around here have mostly been things like finding gutter downspout wrapped around a tree out front (I don't have gutters), and cleaning up a lot of back-pack beer cans from the front yard.

I have had drunk kids mistakenly enter my house at least three times looking for the after party, which I definitely wasn't throwing.

I was walking the dogs on the side of the street one block from the house. They do less stop and sniff compared to on the sidewalk. Two squad cars pulled up to surround us.

I guess there wasn't much for police to do back then since I don't live in Portland or Minneapolis.

I once stumbled out of a bar @2 am and bumped into a girl I knew that was about 5 years older. She had clearly spent a handful of years doing hard drugs. We may have said 2 sentences to one another when I looked to the left and saw my cab coming. As I turned back there were 4 cruisers converging on us. Without even asking what I was doing, I was handcuffed and frisked. By this time the cab is gone, and I am being accused of soliciting a prostitute. After about an hour of talking to the cops and explaining that I knew her name, age, where we went to school etc. they gave me a ride with an apology.
I was pretty upset I didn’t get that $10 blowjob she promised me though…
